STUCKYTE teaches a lesson in Russia

World’s no. 294 overcame SOLJA of Austria currently ranked at position no. 96

 

 

After thrilling day of finals in Team’s Event at the 2015 LIEBHERR ITTF European Championships the venue is buzzing again from the matches on all tables in Ekaterinburg EXPO. The qualification stage of the Singles and Doubles Event started from early morning hours.

 

In Group one we saw great performance of Michael MAZE of Denmark who overcame Aleksandar KARAKASEVIC of Serbia in straight games. However, former European Champion could not repeat the success against Italian Marco RECH DELDOSO.

 

Another Dane, in Group 2, Mikkel HINDERSSON beat both WANG Zengyi of Poland and Leonardo MUTTI of Italy. Legendary Zoran PRIMORAC is also in Russia. Today he overcame Vildan GADIEV of Russia and Luka MLADENOVIC of Luxembourg.

 

In Women’s Singles qualifications Egle STUCKYTE of Lithuania World’s no. 294 overcame Amelie SOLJA of Austria currently ranked at position no. 96.

 

“I was not afraid to meet her. A contrary, I was looking forward this match. She has specific style I can play against easily. I felt her game. I did not let Amelie made long points. I attacked her and forced her to move a lot. I played to the edges of the table,” explained Egle.

 

Egle just concluded her University education.

 

“In two months I will start coaching children. I have degree in physical education, so I can be a teacher too. Now I am playing in Sweden in first and in France in second division. It gives me opportunity to have a lot of matches.”
