The venue for the Championships will be the hall Multiusos de Gondomar with capacity of 2.000 seats, four show courts, 20 main courts and 16 training tables.
"After European Team Championships in 2014 and Europe Top 16 Cup to be held in February 2016, the Portuguese Table Tennis Association is honored that ETTU granted us the opportunity to organise another important event in Portugal," stated FPTM President Pedro MOURA.
Thanks to recent successes of Portugal's team, table tennis enjoys great support from fans, recognition of all major country leaders and public atention.
"Table tennis has been growing in Portugal and turned into a popular sport thanks to his players recent results and due to the organisation of the 2014 EC in Meo Arena. After Lisbon, we decided that we should come to north of Portugal where FPTM has biggest number of affiliated members. Gondomar is a sport minded city, located a few kilometers for Oporto Airport and Multiusos Gondomar is one of the most modern venues in the country. So, I'm sure this event will be remembered in the future."
President MOURA addressed the words of gratitude to the authorities in Gondomar.
"I wish to thank for the cooperation to the City Hall of Gondomar and Mayor of the City who is supporting table tennis and Portuguese Table Tennis Association and to ETTU to trust us again."
