Metz confirms top spot of Group C

In the ECLW Round 5, which was held in Istanbul, French club beat reigning ECLW champion Fenerbahce 3:2
French Metz TT secured the top place of ECLW Group C, as it beat away reigning ECLW champion Fenerbahce 3:2. Both clubs will play in the 2015/16 ECLW quarter-finals, no matter what will happen in the Round 6 between Turkish champion and Postas from Hungary.
Bronze medalist from the 2015 LIEBHERR ITTF European Championships FU Yu repeated her achievement from the Round 2 game which was held in Metz when she beat two best Fenerbahce`s players, 2011 ECH runner-up Irene IVANCAN and 2015 ECH gold medalist Elizabeta SAMARA. It`s not easy to have 4-0 score in two rounds against two such good opponents, but FU did it.
Metz had 2:0 in its favor after WU Jiaduo`s victory against SAMARA. Suthasini SAWETTABUT provided first point for host side, as she overcame Carole GRUNDISCH after full five sets. It was very intense duel in which guest was very close to conclude the match, but host managed to survive and make new hope to her side.
IVANCAN prevailed against former individual European champion WU Jiaduo and evened the total score. In the last encounter, FU beat SAMARA to secure third victory in a row for Metz who was 2014/15 ETTU Cup runner-up.
