The final 2015 Eurotalents Development Camp in Portugal

Loule and Vila Nova de Gaia, November 19-28, 2015

 

This year’s final Eurotalent camp series has ended. This time, in Portugal, it was a combination of training sessions and competition. As part of the program, six of our players from the 2014 selection: Adrien RASEENFOSSE (BEL), Maciej KUBIK (POL), Tal ISRAELI (ISR), LI Tiago (POR), Emilija RILISKYTE (LTU) and Kornelija RILISKYTE (LTU), along with their five coaches, the host and the head coach of the whole program, Fernando MALHEIRO (POR), took part in the Portugal Junior & Cadet Open tournament. The tournament took place in Loule (POR) from November 18–22.

 

After the tournament, organized in cooperation with the FPTM (Portuguese Table Tennis Federation), the whole team travelled to Vila Nova de Gaia. There, we trained for six days in fantastic conditions at the table tennis center. There were 24 Portuguese players, aged 13 to 18, who were of great help to our young players during each of the 16 training sessions. 

 

The complete training program was organized in three daily sessions, from 9.30 to 12.00, 15.30 to 18.00 and from 20.00 to 21.30.

 

“During our stay at the camp, we had enough time to focus on individual performance corrections and the improvement of technical and tactical elements. During this time I talked with all the coaches about what direction to take in their individual work with all the players, I gave them some advice on priorities in the players’ technical improvement, and briefly presented our work plans for next year,” said ETTU Development Manager prof. Neven CEGNAR.

 

In the last three or four sessions, all the players had an opportunity to play several training matches against numerous Portuguese players.
