ETTU Cup Women

History

The ETTU Cup is the second most important continental tournament for clubs in European table tennis, after the European Champions League.
The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) has organised this cup since the 1964-65 season for men teams, and also for women teams a year later.

In the first 50 years of the Women`s ETTU Cup, the most winners came from Hungary, 17. BSE Budapest took the seven titles (1982-1985, 1988-1990).

KTS Zamek Tarnobrzeg participated in five finals in the last nine editions. After four unsuccessful attempts, the Polish club finally managed to lift the trophy, defeating Metz TT (France) in the 2014/15 final. HAN Ying was the back-bone of her side in both final legs.

French CP Lyssois Lille Metropole made history when it became a first French club with the ETTU Cup title in 2015/16 season. They clinched the crown by narrow margin, after two final matches against Turkish Bursa Buyuksehir. Both sides won their away legs 3:2, but Lille Metropole had a better set ratio (18:16).
