Guests took away the points

Guests showed more power in the second round of the Women’s Challenge Division of the JOOLA European Teams Championships Qualifications. Ukraine, Turkey, Serbia, Luxembourg and Slovakia recorded away victories tonight.

Athens: Greece – Ukraine 0:3

Unfortunately, in front of home crowd girls from Greek team failed to post a victory. Ukraine proved too strong for the young Greek team.
Polina TRIFONOVA set a pace with straight games victory over Angelina PAPADAKI. Greek’s no. two Maria CHRISTOFORAKI faced Margaryta PESOTSKA and lost in three games, whilst best ranked player in hosts team Katerina TOLIOU took a set from Ievgenia VASYLIEVA.
In previous round Greece suffered by the hands of Serbia’s players whilst Ukraine beat Sweden.

Sofia: Bulgaria – Turkey 0:3

Turkey justified their status in region by beating Bulgaria in straight matches. In Sofia closest to victory was Tanya ASENOVA in the opening match against Ipek KARAHAN. KARAHAN was forced to go full distance.
Girl who shined last weekend at the U21 Balkan Championships Sibil REMZI failed to repeat the success against HU Melek. Turkey’s top played succeeded in straight games, whilst Gokcenur GUNGOR needed one more to overcome Ivanka ANGELOVA.
So far Turkey is unbeaten. Two weeks ago they overcame Estonia, whilst Bulgaria lost against Luxembourg.

Terni: Italy – Serbia 0:3

Coach Andreja OJSTERSEK announced more experienced line up for the duel against Serbia, but eventually Wenling TAN MONFARDINI and Nikoleta STEFANOVA did not play. On the other side coach Zoltan MELIK kept his promise and came in Terni with the best Serbia can offer. The outcome did not bring any surprise. Serbia prevailed in straight matches.
Lisa RIDOLFI and Elisa TROTTI suffered straight games defeats against Gabriela FEHER and Anamaria ERDELJI whilst Chiara COLANTONI, the only player that played in the duel against Lithuania in last round, forced Monika MOLNAR to go full distance.

Both teams repeat last round’s results. Serbia beat Greece two weeks ago.

Koping: Sweden -Lithuania 3:1

Matilda EKHOLM was in winning mod today. In the opening duel Ieva JUCEVICIUTE failed to find the game for World’s no. 48, whilst Lina MISIKONYTE had her chance. EKHOLM was 2:0 in reverse, but recovered to win the match.
Lina MISIKONYTE was the only player from Lithuanian team who posted the victory. She beat Daniela MOSKOVITS. Jennifer JONSSON overcame Egle STUCKYTE.

Sweden lost against Ukraine in previous round, whilst Lithuania beat Italy.

Tallinn: Estonia – Slovakia 1:3

Tatjana SISTYAKOVA gave home crowd reason to cheer after close victory over Andrea DAUBNEROVA in the opening match. However the joy did not last for long Barbora BALAZOVA beat Valeria PETROVA to brought match in much expected course. Katlin LATT stretched Lucia TRUKSOVA to full distance and eventually BALAZOVA sealed the encounter with the victory over TSISTYAKOVA.

Funchal: Portugal – Luxembourg 2:3

Once again NI Xialian was a back bone of the Luxembourg’s success. She overcame Catia MARTINS and Olga CHRAMKO. Egle SADIKOVIC brought to guest third point by beating Catia MARTINS Ana NEVES succeeded against young Tessy GONDERINGER to save hosts from straight matches defeat.
