Europe vs. Japan in run for titles in Czech Republic
Last week almost the whole European table tennis elite played at the Werner SCHLAGER Academy preparing for the Olympics. The coaches of the WSA in cooperation with Richard PRAUSE were trying to get the Olympic participants in the best possible shape for the Games in London.
Legends like Jörgen PERSSON, Werner SCHLAGER and Zoran PRIMORAC worked side by side with young guns like Adrien MATTENET, Alexander SHIBAEV and Noshad ALAMIYAN. “The preparation was a great fun. I have got a much better feeling now compared with the beginning of the week, and the tournament was a very good idea I think”, said a pleased Vladimir SAMSONOV from Belarus.
Iveta VACENOVSKA of Czech Republic clinched the title in Women’s Singles Event. LIU Jia representing host nation concluded the competition at position no. two, whilst Irene IVANCAN of Germany and Viktoria PAVLOVICH of Belarus shared third position.
Stefan FEGERL of Austria is the winner of the Men’s Singles Event. Adrien MATTENET of France reached runners up position, and Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus and Adrian CRISAN of Romania.
