Europe vs. Japan in run for titles in Czech Republic
Unfortunately, once again Michael MAZE was forced to cancel the participations at one of the big competitions. There will be no name of Danish star at the European line up for the Asian Event of the 2012 Asia-Euro All Stars Challenge scheduled for May 12th -13th. In Tianjin People’s Gymnasium instead of European 2009 champion will play Adran CRISAN of Romania.
CRISAN played in Beijing last year as well. “I am happy to play once again for European team. I hope we will show good performance in China and make it as hard as possible for our adversaries to beat us. Asian players are favorites but we have our aces. “ Adrian is satisfied with his current shape. “I last few months I played at high level and I think that I have good season in Werder Bremen. Right now I am in phase of preparation for Olympic Games in London.”
Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany will lead European Team in Asia. World’s number ten topping the list that includes the name of Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus ranked at position no. 13, World’s no. 30 Bojan TOKIC of Slovenia and no. 42 Alexey SMIRNOV of Russia.
“OVTCHAROV improved his game very much in last months and most of the pressure will be on him.. SAMSONOV is also is in a good shape. I saw him played well in Spain. In addition, on a good day you can see TOKIC, SMIRNOV and me winning against the Asians. I hope for good and close encounter,” said Adrian CRISAN.
Asia won second leg and overall Trophy for the best team last year as they did in two previous occasions as well.
For Asian team will play World’s no 17 HAO Shuai of China, Jun MIZUTANI of Japan no. seven, JOO Se Hyuk of Korea number 8, CHUANG Chih-Yuan of Taipei no. 11 and GAO Ning of Singapore no. 16 at current World rankings.
French region of Vendée will host the European leg of the Event on 27th and 28th October 2012.
